Essay: Mitt Romney Confirms Indifference to the Plight of the "Very Poor"

A day or two ago Mitt Romney made a gaffe in which he admitted that he evidently could care less about the very poor. He said in part, "I'm not very concerned about the very poor, we have a safety net there..." I would wager that all of the G.O.P. Presidential candidates, whether they say so or not, feel the same way. After saying that, if any poor people or Occupy Wall Street/America people pull the lever for Romney, then they are certainly voting against their own best interests. Another reason to vote against Mitt Romney is that Donald Trump endorsed him.(tbc?) The so-called "safety net" is starting to fray and break due to right-wing Republican policies.
