The attempt to legally redefine life as "beginning at conception" in Mississippi by fanatical anti-choice religious conservatives has failed. A majority of voters has rejected the referendum. If the "personhood" attempt passed, and life was legally, but not necessarily scientifically defined at conception; not only would abortion in all cases have been outlawed, but so would many forms of contraception and lifesaving medical procedures as well. Unfortunately, according to an article I read on Yahoo, the same right-wing religious fanatics have placed a similar "personhood" initiative in six other states. I hope the personhood movement loses and loses big anywhere and everywhere it rears its ugly head.
